Comme des Garcons Fall RTW 2009

This was a collection about what wasn't there, as opposed to what was-much like Fendi's Fall 2008 showing. The proportions and sihlouettes were oddly genius, even though they are obviously not groundbreaking. It was refreshing to see less form fitting pieces on the runway, and the idea of over sized capes and tulle sheer pants has never been more titillating. My favorite pieces in this war-themed show, were the jackets with the details simply drawn on the fabric, and the shoes that had the bone structure of a humans foot, chalked onto the tops. It was the battle between what was material and engineering, versus what was natural and basic, but somehow there was no battle for top title, because in this war, peace was justly found.
